BASF enhances classroom technology at Galvez Middle School
Promotes interactive learning with gift of wireless remotes

Geismar, La., May 17, 2011 – BASF’s Geismar, La., site donated more than $2,500 to Adopt-A-School partner, Glavez Middle School, for the purchase of several SMART Response hand-held wireless remotes. The wireless remotes are paired with SMART Board interactive whiteboards and allow students to submit answers and receive instant feedback from teachers.

“The wireless remotes are a great tool to foster student engagement by allowing for more one-on-one instruction.” said Glenda Mora, Math teacher at Glavez Middle Schooll. “Now with the help of BASF’s donation, each student will have his or her own wireless remote and an enhanced learning experience.”

Mora uses the SMART Board to project quizzes and tests onto a whiteboard screen. Students then use the SMART Response remotes to submit their answers and immediately receive their grades.

“Technology is changing the way our children learn. BASF is working with Galvez Middle School to make sure every student has access to superior technology in the classroom,” said Kevin McCarroll, Geismar Site Operations Director, BASF Corporation.
