Berkowski named Senior Vice President of BASF’s Engineering Plastics business

WYANDOTTE, MI, July 30, 2010 – Larry Berkowski, Senior Vice President of BASF Corporation’s North America Styrenics business, will also assume responsibility for BASF’s Engineering Plastics business effective Aug. 1, 2010.  In this key position, Berkowski will have responsibility for all aspects of the business, including manufacturing, supply chain, technology, marketing and sales.  He will also ensure that the successful implementation of the engineering plastics strategy will continue in the future.

Berkowski rejoined BASF in 2001, and prior to his assignment in 2008 as the Senior Vice President of the Styrenics business, Berkowski was the Director of BASF’s Polyurethane Systems (2006 – 2008) and Chemicals (2001 – 2005) business units.   He also worked at GE in a variety of global management and marketing positions.   

Berkowski received his MBA from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and his Master of Chemical Engineering and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry degrees, both from the University of Detroit.
