BASF participates in Detroit’s Autorama

SOUTHFIELD, MI, March 12, 2009 – BASF Automotive Refinish Solutions today announced that it participated in the 2009 Autorama “Educational Days” reception, which is held to attract new talent to the automotive aftermarket industries.
During Autorama’s annual Educational Days, students and instructors have the opportunity to enjoy the best the custom car and automotive aftermarket industries have to offer. The events also feature guest speakers who share their passion for the industry.
“BASF is very interested in attracting new talent to the collision repair and automotive refinish industries,” said Brent Wallace, Brand Marketing Manager for BASF Refinish North America.

Wallace joined automotive celebrities, Chip Foose and Troy Trepanier, and a wealth of other speakers in addressing and encouraging approximately 3,000 students and instructors during an Educational Days reception.

In addition, BASF displayed its Foose Signature Line of automotive refinish paints at the Chip Foose Autorama exhibit.

BASF is also pleased to announce that the winner of this year’s Autorama Ridler award was presented to a custom 1932 Ford 'Deucenberg V8' painted with BASF’s Glasurit 90-Line waterborne products. The Ridler award, given out every year at the Detroit Autorama, is one of the custom car industry’s biggest awards.

Held annually in March, Autorama of Detroit, Michigan, is the largest indoor custom car show in the United States.
