WASHINGTON, NJ, October 16, 2008 – Saturday, Oct. 18, BASF’s Washington site at 2 Pleasant View Ave. is holding an open house to give employees’ families and members of the community an inside look at the facility, which manufactures soaps and detergents found in many consumer and industrial products. The open house is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“We look forward to having employees’ families and community members join us at the site,” said Martha Brabston, Manager of BASF’s Washington site. “We wanted to give everyone the opportunity to tour our facility, talk to our employees and lean more about the products we manufacture.”
The event is open to community residents and immediate family members over the age of 12. The age requirement is due to safety considerations.
The open house will feature a tour of the facility, including production and laboratory areas, so attendees are required to wear long pants and closed toe shoes.
“BASF is known as the company that ‘helps make products better.’ We also have a strong commitment to helping make the communities in which we live and work better,” said Brabston. “Through activities such as this open house, our Community Advisory Panel, and our support of local schools and community programs, we hope residents see this commitment demonstrated on a daily basis.”
