FLORHAM PARK, NJ, April 7, 2008 – The newly formed Care Chemicals business unit of BASF Performance Chemicals today announced that Gary Dee recently joined the BASF Personal Care Ingredients team as Business Director, Personal Care Ingredients, North America. He will be based in Florham Park, New Jersey.

Gary comes to BASF with 17 years of global sales, marketing, manufacturing and supply chain experience in ozone performance acids, plastic additives and raw materials for cosmetic, toiletry and personal care markets. He is a graduate of Thames Valley University in Reading, Berkshire, in the United Kingdom.

Dee is a longtime contributor to the cosmetics industry through previous involvement with the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, the Personal Care Products Council (formerly the Cosmetic, Toiletries and Fragrance Association), the American Chemical Society, and the Chemical Club of Philadelphia. His patents include The Substitution of Mineral Oil with Plant Derived Raw Materials for Cosmetics & Personal Care applications.

Before joining BASF, Dee had experience in the global personal care business having worked in the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.
