BASF’s Cellasto® MCU business receives two supplier
awards from NUMMI
Microcellular polyurethane jounce bumpers supplier recognized for
quality, delivery
WYANDOTTE, Mich., May 18, 2005 -- BASF’s Cellasto microcellular
polyurethanes (MCU) business received Excellence in Quality and
Excellence in Delivery awards from New United Motor Manufacturing,
Inc. (NUMMI), Fremont, Calif., at an awards ceremony held at the
manufacturer’s headquarters in April.
NUMMI, a joint venture of General Motors Corporation and Toyota
Motor Corporation, manufactures the Toyota Corolla, Toyota Tacoma
and Pontiac Vibe. BASF supplies NUMMI with Cellasto MCU jounce bumpers
used on the front and rear suspensions of the Corolla and Vibe that
improve the vehicles’ overall ride and comfort characteristics.
“Our team of dedicated professionals is proud to be recognized
by NUMMI with these prestigious awards for our performance,”
said Bob Jamrog, Director of BASF’s Cellasto MCU business
in North America. “BASF is committed to helping make our customers
more successful, and consistently meeting very demanding requirements
for part quality and on-time delivery certainly contributes to this
effort.”
“NUMMI is pleased to recognize the outstanding efforts made
by BASF to meet our quality and delivery performance goals,”
said Linda McColgan, General Manager for NUMMI’s Purchasing
Department. “This level of performance is what NUMMI looks
forward to from all of our suppliers, but only the best achieve
it. To accomplish this goal, BASF was very tuned into matching our
expectations with the actual in-process, day-to-day activity that
is required to perform at this level.”
“We look forward to many more years of mutual success with
BASF as our supplier,” she said. “Many thanks from NUMMI
to all the team members who contributed to this outstanding accomplishment.”
