Microsoft Says BASF Helps Make The Xbox™ Video Game System
Better
Representatives
from Microsoft Corporation recently came to BASF Corporation's Northeast Regional
Headquarters in the International Trade Center to thank the company for helping
make the Xbox™ better and to share the reasons behind their choosing of
BASF's Terluran® ABS engineering plastic to produce the Xbox™ game
system console worldwide.
The Xbox™ video game system from Microsoft is dazzling customers of all
ages by creating video games that "blur the lines between fantasy and reality."
Equally as imaginative is the sleek, distinctive, deep green Xbox™ console
with a signature "X" on the top and Xbox™ "jewel"
in the center.
Microsoft selected BASF Terluran® ABS because of its ability to match the
specific colors and finishes it wanted for this exciting new product that is
sweeping the marketplace. Representatives from Microsoft said that the cosmetic
performance of Terluran® ABS exceeded their industrial design team's expectations,
and has proven to process cost efficiently as well. BASF also had a logistic
advantage over its competitors. With global manufacturing capabilities, BASF
was able to "be near" Microsoft, wherever the Xbox™ was being
made. All these value- added benefits made BASF the supplier of choice for Microsoft's
Xbox™. As part of its presentation, Microsoft also showcased some of the
hundreds of new games it brought to the marketplace in time for Christmas.
