Styropor® EPS is valued
above all else for its outstanding thermal insulation properties and, when
compared to other rigid insulation materials, it provides the highest cost-efficiency
per inch of thermal insulation. Properly installed, it resists aging, and
it is absolutely free from any tendency to rot or degrade; yet it is compatible
with all the usual building materials and their components - cement, lime,
polymer dispersions, water, acid and alkalis. However, it must be protected
from solvents and their vapors.
Rigid insulation board produced from BF and BFL grades of Styropor EPS
can be used in most construction or insulation applications when installed
in accordance with local building codes. EPS foam insulation can be produced
to provide a wide range of performance properties. It should be ordered
in accordance with ASTM C 578, Standard Specification for Rigid, Cellular
Polystyrene Thermal Insulation, in whatever size and density is necessary
to meet the requirements of the application.
EPS foam can be laminated to a variety of other materials to provide
composite insulation for a wide assortment of applications.
